    Sorry for the lack of news updates recently but we have been moving into our new premises and trying to run the business at the same time! We also have a new phone number:- 01283 584968 as well as a new member of staff, Tom Stanley joins us as our hire department manager.

    We have recently acquired some new stock and retired some of our older equipment, unfortunately we have had to let go of our remaining stock of HK Audio Actor series powered loudspeakers after reliability issues, the issues not caused by any manufacturing defects were down to the age of the equipment and the amount of use it has had during service.  To replace the old equipment we now have in stock HK Audio Premium Pro series loudspeakers, have a look here for more information.

   Also new in stock, Turbosound stage monitors TFM212, we are also looking at some other Turbosound equipment to add to our hire stock so keep an eye out on the hire pages for new loudspeaker systems!

    We have been travelling around again! Up North as well as down South, here are a couple of photos from two summer balls (not that you would know its summer with the weather!).

    Its been a while since we updated the news section but the last half of 2007 was very busy for us!  Have a look at the lighting section if you get a chance, lots of new stuff added to the hire stock. 

    We have also been hired for several events in the new Westfield Shopping Centre in Derby, ranging from stage, lighting & full PA systems being hired.

    In other news, we were hired for a series of X Factor events up and down the country for X Factor finalists to appear in Carphone Warehouse stores, culminating with a party for the Carphone Warehouse staff at their headquarters in London just before Christmas.

    Its a busy summer season this year despite the appalling UK weather, those of you that have been brave enough to ignore the weather and press on with the events anyway have so far been very lucky!

    Pro Live Audio supplied the sound and light for the Vodaphone Maclaren Mercedes team this year at the British F1 Grand prix, we battled against the elements at Silverstone during the setup but were rewarded with some sunshine on the weekend, for more photos of the event click here.

     Rigging started on Thursday this week for a week long production at the Nottingham Arts Theatre, the show 'Return to the Forbidden Planet' starts next Monday the 14th of May.  Pro Live Audio have installed an 8kW system comprising of 4 PLA112HL's and 4 PLA212Mt's for the main front of house, 2 HK Actor side fills, 1 HK Actor Drum fill with HK sub + 8 additional 12" & 15" stage monitors all controlled from an Allen & Heath GL2800 40 channel console running 7 different monitor mixes.  For more information on the show visit http://www.artstheatre.org.uk/ .

     New stage in stock!  We have recently added more new staging to our hire stock, we now stock lite structures toplock lite-deck, it is different from the standard lite deck as it only needs a twist of an allen key to secure decking sections together.  Its already been out on hire and here's what our client had to say:-

     "Covstock 4 is Coventry's most popular independent charity gig, held every year. This year we decided to hold the gig outdoors and we needed staging which would make the best use of the space we had. The Lite Structures  staging we hired from Pro Live Audio fitted the bill perfectly. The versatile 8ft x 4ft sections can be assembled very easily and the handy locking mechanisms meant no fumbling around underneath with nuts and bolts. We had our 16ft x 20ft stage assembled and secure in less than an hour - a real bonus as we were really pushed for time. AND it all fitted into the back of our Transit!      It’s that time of year again! Pro Live Audio again supplied the audio systems for this year’s charity event at Nottingham County football ground, this year we provided twice as much equipment catering for both teams of cheerleaders. 16kW of Pro Live Audio FOH loudspeakers were used on the stands with 1.6kW worth of HK Audio for the cheerleader’s monitors.

     In other news it looks like we will finally be moving into our new warehouse, with all the spare space we'll have we can finally increase our staging stock and expand on our lighting systems so keep an eye out for new stuff on hire soon.

     Website update completed, lots of new pages including artists profiles and an events calendar. 

     Other news, we have recently undertaken a series of events put on by Under The Mattress Promotions around the Leicester area starting off with a load of dates at the Wycliffe Rooms in Lutterworth, hopefully extending to cover other areas surrounding Leicestershire.  The first event was off to a good start and featured Fade to Sepia, Ministers of Reo, Nemisto, Arms of Cuba.  The next event is on the 23/02/2007 and will feature Albany Down, The Dandilions & The Signs, If you haven't got a ticket you might be too late I believe it may have sold out already.  For more information please visit http://www.myspace.com/underthemattresspromotions .

    More new toys in stock, Sennheiser E901 condenser kick drum mic.  We heard these in use a couple of times last year and were impressed with the sound, so much so we decided to buy some! If you have got us booked in for your sound over the next few weeks you will probably have one of these in your kick drum, keep an eye on the reviews section as this could be making an appearance in there soon.

    More new kit available for hire check out the updated Sound Hire page, new conference and AV presentation audio packages are now available for hire.  In addition to conference equipment there are also new DJ packages available, whether you are someone who wants a small Disco set-up for a party or a pro DJ looking for a large sound system we are sure to have something to suit your requirements.

    The Pro Live Audio team has just grown by one, Simon Needle joins us this year as a company director, he brings with him a lot of experience as a sound engineer, he has engineered hundreds of events around the UK & Europe.  He has previously worked with us on many events during the last two years and has a good understanding of our company and our hire stock.

New HK Actor Active Loudspeaker Systems available for hire, scaleable from 800w to 2.4kW

     Keep an eye out on the hire pages we will shortly be adding lighting packages to the lighting section and the sound section has already been updated to reflect new hire stock.

    New in the sound department are HK Actor systems available to hire, sound systems available from 800W (two top cabinets), 1.6kW (two top cabinets + two bass cabinets) and 2.4kW (two top cabinets + four bass cabinets), this will hopefully fill the gap between the small vocal PA system and the large sound systems starting at 4kW.

    Happy new year folks! Last year was another busy one for us, we did not get a break at all during the summer sometimes doing multiple events on the same day at different locations throughout the UK!  A big thanks to all our customers that used us last year hope to see you again in 2007.

    All of our pricing examples have now been updated to reflect our new pricing policies, we still believe we offer exceptional value for money with our products and services and we will try and match prices and specs offered by others. We are continuing to update our equipment with newer technology so that we can offer the best service possible to our clients, keep an eye on the news section for updates on our latest services and new products that will be available for hire.

    Pro Live Audio are to be the suppliers of the PA system for this years UK Fireworks championships being held at Stanford Hall, we will be using a 20kW audio system to broadcast the music to the crowd during the firework displays, for more information on this event please visit http://www.fireworkchampions.co.uk/.

  PRICE CHANGES, Unfortunately due to the ever increasing cost of fuel our travel charges have had to increase. Small PA systems and deliveries (up to 6kW with no extras, backline lights etc.) are now charged at 60 pence per mile travelled, larger PA systems will now be charged at 80p per mile travelled, for very large events with stage, sound, light and power please contact us.

   With an output of 2040W RMS per channel @ 4 Ohms these have added space to our amp racks and lightened the load, so you know what that means right? Yep you guessed it we filled the available rack space with more amplifiers for those bigger jobs!

    Pro Live Audio recently supplied an audio system for the Nottingham Trent University Cheerleaders team at a football match in Nott's County Stadium to an audience of around 4000. The primary aim was to give an added dimension to the cheerleaders performance and aid them with their routine by providing an 'on pitch' monitor system and another system aimed at the crowd.  We used a HK Actor system for the pitch sound and a 10kW Pro Live Audio system for the audience consisting of 6 PLA121HL's (21" horn loaded sub) and 4 PLA212Mt's (MF/HF enclosure).  Even with the 4000 odd people in the stand the sound could be clearly 'felt' even at the top of the tier.  It was certainly a different event for us, one of the crew members on the night commented 'I think I've got the best job in the world' this can probably be best explained by the photos!

    Check out the new PA hire section, the pages have all now been updated and reflect our new range of loudspeaker enclosures. Everything from 3kW to 20kW has been updated and is now available for hire.

    Happy new year folks!  Hopefully we will soon have finished testing on all of our current loudspeaker enclosures and will be publishing the results some time in Feb.  As for other news we have been busy over the winter period and have new enclosure designs which will hopefully be in a manufactured state by the end of Jan or early Feb, the fist of which is a short throw twin 15" enclosure with a calculated continuous output of 136.5db! with a continuous power rating of 1600W rms. It exhibits a response very similar to our horn loaded 21" enclosures and has exactly the same footprint, size and external hardware making it fully compatible with our other enclosures. This is intended for smaller venues for use in pairs or for larger venues to be used as part of a stack.

    Its been a busy year so far for 2005, we have made a lot of new friends and even taken on some more part time staff.  Most importantly we have expanded and grown to over double where we started and we intend to do the same in the next twelve months.

    Some of the more important recent purchases include new Allen & Heath consoles, we have now expanded up to 40 channel consoles for larger events also keeping the 24 & 12 channel models.

Also for this year we have been working on our own range of speakers for front of house use, after building many prototypes in our first year we have settled at two main production models for winter 2005. First to be completed are some mid/high range cabinets, model PLA212Mt. The cabinets response is from 118Hz to 20kHz with a total RMS power handling of 900W, it has a continuous SPL of 133db. It contains 2 12" drivers and one 1.75" compression driver. It is of a trapezoidal design allowing it to be stacked in curved arrays and is ideally suited to our new range of low frequency enclosures (currently in production).

    The low frequency cabinets utilise a single 21" driver in a horn loaded configuration and can achieve a peak SPL figure of 138db! Frequency response is from 40Hz to 150Hz(+/-3db). Prototypes are currently in use but new production models will be complete by the end of October.

    Hopefully our production models will be available for sales in the new year, if you want them get your orders in quick as we already have a waiting list and we are not selling them yet! For more info and full product details please contact us.
